The private art museum is located west part of Daisen, famous Mountain in Sanin. It was opened due to pursue the “creating mountain culture” and “encouragement of local culture.”
In the building, oil paintings with themes of Natural Mountain are exhibited. By Mr. Genichiro Adachi, Mr. Toshio Yamazato, Mr. Seiji Yatsuhashi and Mr Kazuyoshi Tanaka who are representing artist in Tottori, their works are mostly focusing on Daisen and home sweet home. Daisen paintings are even more realistic than pictures.
Café in the building “Monterosa”, there are limited quantity per day of homemade Soba noodles. (700yen) Reservation is recommended. Likewise, coffee with subsoil water from Daisen is very popular. (370yen)
This is good art museum for mountain enthusiasts. The third Saturday of each month, a day trip “climbing school” has been held. Not only variety of Daisen climbing routes, but also mountain nature will be introduced in this class. Please contact for more detail. Hoki Sangaku Art Association (approx. 250 members) is now inviting new participants. (Annual membership1000yen) They are publishing newsletter “Onikko” four times a year. Variety of information about Daisen is on. Currently, library on the second floor is under construction. The complete and collection arrangements will be around later July. Please visit the art collection of the mountain, when it completes.
