Worldwide famous local photographer, Shoji Ueda.
His photographs are that he takes subjects as objects against the sky and dunes of Sanin. His unique style is called “Ueda-cho (Ueda style)” and became famous in the world. Recently, because a famous singer and actor, Masaharu Fukuyama, also studied his talent, his name attracted public attention.
In order to praise the achievement of Shoji Ueda, “Shoji Ueda photo museum” was built and designed by architect Mr. Shin Takamatsu at this area in September 23, 1995. The building surrounded by natural landscape and look up Hoki Daisen as it is, and the building itself are reminiscent of a giant art work.
