The beautiful peony bloom regardless of season and herbal medicine ginseng is specialty in this island known as "Daikon Jima"

Daisen, when it was still active volcano mountain, this island was born due to the volcano eruption. This island soil contains valuable minerals and produces beautiful peony and ginseng.

Yuushidan is a circuit style Japanese garden.
Although currently 300,000 visitors come every year, number of difficult days were spent in order to open.

About 30years ago, focusing on the Daikonjima which was floating on a quiet wave, Yoshizo Kadowaki designed Japanese garden here. He created all the images however, passed away during his middle of aspirations.

Since then, his son and first garden owner, Sakae, was continued his father's will and facing to their dream.
After 8 years of suffering , it successfully implement.
Sakae named the garden after his father and opened.

The Japanese garden shows imperfect, impermanent and incomplete scenes.
Peony blooms all the year, however, end-April to mid-May is the best season for peony.

Another local specialty is Asian ginseng. it is very difficult to grow and takes 6 years it to be efficacy. Also, once harvest field, it will take 20 years to soil to be recovered.
Asian ginseng is very valuable due to hard to obtain.
It export world wide. It is as good products as Korean ginseng.

You may purchase the treasure ginseng at Yuushien.The familiar products "Ginseng extract", "powder". "ginseng Sake","Soap""essence""tea" and other variety products.
You have a good opportunity to try ginseng ice cream in the park .
