Goto family owned the shipping industry during the Edo period and was given the privilege of wholesaler by Domain for rice and iron.
House is nestled along the Kamogawa Kyobashi with Hongawara roof and white wall. You can image an emblem of power at that time and feel overwhelming today as well.
Although beginning of the Meiji era, there were a number of warehouses and attached building on the north side of road, there are currently main house, second warehouse and miso warehouse only remain.
During Edo period, flat story wooden building with tiled roof was the only this place in the region, it has been designated as one of Important Cultural Properties. It now has become one of the few valuable buildings in the country.
